Novig is a US sports prediction market. Instead of betting against a sportsbook, you trade with other users on game results and other sports outcomes, and the exchange matches buyers and sellers. In June 2026 the CFTC designated Novig’s exchange, Ludlow Exchange LLC, as a designated contract market, the same federal licence Kalshi holds. Novig then launched its sports event contracts nationally in August 2026.
How Novig works
Each contract pays out if the outcome happens, and the price reflects the market’s view of the chance, as on Kalshi or Polymarket. Because users trade against each other, there’s no bookmaker margin built into the price; the platform earns money from its own fees. Novig’s pitch is sports-first: a sportsbook-style app with exchange pricing.
Availability and legal status
- Federal: CFTC-designated since June 16, 2026.
- States: reporting at launch put availability at about 47 states. Like other prediction markets, Novig faces state pushback over sports contracts: it has sued New York to stop the state applying its gambling laws, and is in disputes with gambling regulators in other states.
- Before the licence, Novig ran a different model and stopped operating in states that banned it; its current exchange product replaces that.
