How much does Novig charge? Pre-game straight bets are free to trade. Novig charges a taker fee on live (in-game) straights, futures and parlays, and makers never pay. Bank and crypto deposits are free; card and Apple Pay deposits cost 3%. This guide breaks down every Novig fee with worked examples, from Novig’s help centre as checked October 2026.
The trading fee formula
Novig’s fee is:
fee = coefficient × price × (1 − price) × contracts
Only takers pay it: if your order matches straight away, you’re the taker; if it rests on the book until someone else fills it, you’re the maker and pay nothing. Like Kalshi’s fee, it’s largest at 50¢ and shrinks towards 1¢ and 99¢.
| Trade type | Taker coefficient | Maker |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-game straights (app, web and API) | No fee | No fee |
| Live (in-game) straights | 0.06 | No fee |
| Futures straights | 0.06 (golf and tennis futures free since September 10, 2026) | No fee |
| Parlays | 0.10, built into the quoted price | No fee |
One inconsistency: an FAQ on the same help page gives 0.03 for live trades, while the fee schedule and worked examples use 0.06. We’ve used 0.06; check the fee shown in the app before you confirm.
Worked examples
These are Novig’s own examples:
- Live straight: 100 contracts at 50¢. Fee = 0.06 × 0.50 × 0.50 × 100 = $1.50, so the trade costs $51.50, an effective price of about 51.5¢.
- Futures straight: 100 contracts at 15¢. Fee = 0.06 × 0.15 × 0.85 × 100 = $0.765, shown as $0.77, for a total of $15.77.
- Parlay: a quote of 10.9¢ is a 10.0¢ fair price plus a 0.9¢ fee per contract, so 100 contracts cost $10.90 all-in.
Our odds converter turns any of these prices into American or decimal odds.
How fees are charged
- Only the part of an order that fills immediately pays the taker fee. Any part that rests and is filled later counts as a maker fill and pays nothing.
- If one order fills at several prices, the fee is worked out once on the volume-weighted average price, not level by level.
- Fees are calculated to $0.00001, with midpoints rounded up.
- Parlays can’t be taken through the Novig API.
Deposit fees
| Method | Novig’s pricing tier | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Bank transfer (Stripe, Aeropay) | Discount | None |
| Stablecoin or crypto (Coinflow) | Discount | None |
| Credit or debit card, Apple Pay (Coinflow) | Standard | 3%, shown before you confirm |
Novig says payment methods can vary by user and location. Its help page doesn’t list withdrawal fees, so check the app before you cash out.
Novig vs Kalshi on fees
Kalshi charges a taker fee on most trades, including pre-game sports, at 0.07 × price × (1 − price) on most markets. Novig charges nothing on pre-game straights, but its 0.06 live and futures rate is close to Kalshi’s standard rate. If you mostly trade before kick-off, Novig is cheaper.
