Polymarket US is the version of Polymarket that Americans can legally use. It’s a separate app, with separate accounts, running on Polymarket’s own exchange and clearing house regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. You fund it in dollars, not crypto, and it lists sports, politics, crypto, economics and culture markets. The main polymarket.com exchange remains closed to US residents.
How Polymarket US came about
- July 2025: Polymarket bought QCEX, a CFTC-licensed exchange (designated contract market) and clearing house, for $112 million.
- November 2025: the CFTC approved an amended order letting US customers access the exchange through intermediaries.
- December 2025: the iPhone app opened to people on the waitlist, starting with sports.
- May 12, 2026: the waitlist was removed and the app opened to all eligible US users on iPhone.
The clearing house operates as Polymarket Clearing. From Polymarket’s documentation and reporting, checked October 2026.
What you can trade
Sports (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS, college, tennis, golf and more), politics, crypto, economics, weather, tech and culture markets, plus combos (Polymarket’s parlays). The selection overlaps with the main exchange, but prices and order books are separate, so the same question can trade at a slightly different price. Our price-gap scanner compares Polymarket’s main exchange with Kalshi.
Where it’s available
Polymarket US is for US residents. Its App Store listing notes that trading is currently unavailable in Nevada and that it isn’t available in all jurisdictions, so check the app for your state. The listing is rated 18+. US users can’t deposit or trade on the polymarket.com website, which treats the US as a restricted country.
Fees
Under the fee schedule in effect since October 19, 2026, the standard taker fee is 0.0695 × contracts × price × (1 − price), or $17.38 on 1,000 contracts at 50¢. Table tennis uses a higher coefficient, combos have their own formula, and high-volume makers and takers can earn rebates. The schedule has changed several times since launch. Deposits and withdrawals
Fund with a debit card, bank transfer (ACH), Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo, wire ($5,000 minimum) or USDC on iPhone where available. Card and bank deposits take 3–4 business days to clear, though the app can give instant buying power in the meantime. Withdrawals are free, go back to your original funding source and take 3–4 business days by card or bank. See Polymarket deposits and withdrawals.

Both are CFTC-regulated, work in dollars and charge similar standard taker fees.
