How do you get money into Polymarket, and how do you withdraw it? It depends on which Polymarket you use. The main international exchange runs on crypto: you deposit from a crypto wallet or exchange and withdraw the same way. The US app, Polymarket US, works in dollars with cards, bank transfers and payment apps. This guide covers both, from Polymarket’s help centre and documentation as checked in October 2026.
Main exchange: how to deposit
Each account has its own deposit address on each supported network. You send crypto there from a wallet or exchange, and Polymarket converts it into pUSD, the dollar token it has used for trading since April 28, 2026. pUSD lives on the Polygon network and is backed one-to-one by USDC.
- Supported networks include Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, BNB Chain, Solana, Bitcoin and Tron, among others. The deposit screen shows the current list.
- Minimums vary by network. A deposit below the minimum stays pending until further deposits bring the total up to it.
- Mistakes can’t be undone. Polymarket says crypto sent to the wrong network or address cannot be reversed. Always match the network on both sides of the transfer.
- Fees: Polymarket charges nothing to deposit. Your exchange, wallet or the network may.
Main exchange: how to withdraw
- Open your wallet and choose Withdraw.
- Pick the network and token you want to receive, such as USDC on Polygon or another supported chain, and paste the destination address.
- Check the quote. It shows any third-party bridge or swap cost and how much will arrive.
- Confirm. Polymarket describes withdrawals as instant and free.
To turn crypto into your local currency, withdraw to an exchange account in your name that supports the same network and token, then sell and withdraw to your bank there.
Why a Polymarket withdrawal can fail
- Not enough liquidity to convert. Withdrawals turn pUSD into USDC and swap through a liquidity pool, and that pool can run short. Polymarket’s documentation suggests splitting the withdrawal, waiting a while, or withdrawing pUSD directly. Note that some exchanges don’t accept pUSD deposits.
- Very large amounts. For withdrawals over about $50,000, Polymarket suggests splitting them to reduce slippage.
- Money still in positions. Only your cash balance can be withdrawn; sell or wait for markets to settle first.
- Wrong network on the other side. If the receiving exchange doesn’t support the network you chose, the funds can be lost. Check before you send.
- Geographic restrictions. In close-only countries you can close existing positions but not open new ones. See Is Polymarket legal?
Polymarket US: deposits
Polymarket US is a separate app with separate accounts, regulated by the CFTC and funded in dollars. Its deposit options:
| Method | Speed | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Debit card | 3–4 business days to clear | Daily limit applies |
| Bank transfer (ACH) | 3–4 business days to clear | Daily limit applies |
| Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo | Varies | Available in the app |
| Wire transfer | 1 business day | $5,000 minimum |
| USDC | Varies | On iPhone, where available |
Polymarket US can give you “instant buying power” while a deposit clears, and deposits must come from accounts in your own name.
Polymarket US: withdrawals
- Cost: described as free.
- Speed: 3–4 business days by card or bank transfer; wires take about one business day and are requested through support.
- Where it goes: back to your original funding source, and only from deposits that have cleared.
- Common delays: a deposit that hasn’t cleared, a withdrawal method that doesn’t match how you paid in, rejected bank details, or an anti-money-laundering review.
